Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases made on www.planewreck.is for parking and site access at the Eyvindarholt DC-3 Plane Wreck area in South Iceland.
Please read these Terms before purchasing. Before proceeding to secure payment, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to them.
1. About the service
SitePass is sold by TG-Travel ehf. (Icelandic registration no. 5612080500), Skógum, 861 Hvolsvöllur, Iceland. Customer service: [email protected]. The designated parking area and surrounding visitor area at Eyvindarholt are on private land and maintained by the local family who owns the area.
A SitePass gives the customer permission to park in the marked parking area and visit the plane wreck area during the period stated at checkout or on the booking confirmation. If you buy a pass on site, please pay when you arrive. You may stay on site for up to five hours from the time you arrive. Staying longer does not automatically create a fine or additional charge. An advance-booked SitePass is valid throughout the selected calendar date until midnight (Iceland time). Overnight stays, camping and sleeping in vehicles are not permitted with either type of pass.
2. Prices and currency
The price for each vehicle category is shown on the website before payment. The total shown at checkout applies to the selected SitePass. Prices may change without notice, but changes do not affect purchases already confirmed.
Payments are processed in Icelandic krona (ISK) unless another currency is clearly displayed at checkout. Any currency conversion or foreign card fees are determined by the card issuer and are the responsibility of the customer.
3. Payment
Payment is required at the time of purchase. Card payments are processed through a secure third-party payment gateway. We do not store full card numbers or card security codes.
If the SitePass fee is not paid during an on-site visit, an additional fee of ISK 1,500 may be added to the unpaid SitePass fee. A payment claim will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. This additional fee relates to non-payment; staying on site for more than five hours does not by itself trigger it.
Your SitePass is issued when payment is successfully confirmed. We will show an on-screen confirmation and send a receipt to the email address provided.
4. Customer responsibility
Please check the vehicle registration number, visit date, email address and other details before paying. If you notice a mistake after payment, contact us promptly so we can review the available options.
The SitePass is valid only for the vehicle, date and access product shown on the confirmation, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
5. Parking and site rules
Visitors must park only in the designated parking area and follow all on-site signs and instructions. Access is limited to normal visitor use of the parking area and the plane wreck area. Driving off marked roads or tracks, entering closed areas, disturbing animals, damaging land, leaving waste or behaving in a way that creates danger or nuisance is not permitted.
Overnight stays, camping and sleeping in vehicles are prohibited. An on-site SitePass allows a stay of up to five hours from arrival; a longer stay does not automatically trigger a fine or an additional payment.
Visitors enter the area at their own risk and must take care in Icelandic weather and ground conditions, which can change quickly.
6. Cancellations and refunds
An on-site SitePass is available for use immediately after payment. An advance booking is for the selected visit date. You can cancel an advance booking for a full refund by emailing [email protected] before that visit date begins (Iceland time); please include your order number. Other cancellation and refund requests are assessed according to the circumstances and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights.
If you purchased the wrong date, entered incorrect vehicle details or made another mistake, please contact us as soon as possible. The advance-booking cancellation rule above applies where relevant; in other cases we will review the available options.
If we close the parking area or cancel access for safety reasons, weather, maintenance or other reasons within our control, customers who have purchased access for the affected date may request a refund or a date change. Refunds, where approved, will normally be made to the same payment card used for the original purchase.
Refund requests relating to a missed visit, weather, visibility or circumstances outside our control will be considered in light of the circumstances and applicable consumer law.
7. Complaints and customer support
If you have a question, complaint or refund request, please email [email protected] or use the contact details in your booking confirmation. Please include your name, email address, purchase date, vehicle registration number and any order or payment reference so we can find the transaction.
8. Liability
We are responsible for providing access to the designated parking area and visitor area as described on the website. Please take reasonable care of yourself, your vehicle and your belongings, particularly in changing weather and ground conditions. Liability for a loss or injury will be assessed under applicable Icelandic law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted under Icelandic law.
9. Privacy
Personal information provided in connection with a purchase is used to process the order, confirm access, handle customer service and meet legal or accounting requirements. Vehicle registration numbers and camera detections may be used to match visits with payments. Card payment information is handled by the payment provider. For questions about personal information, please contact [email protected].
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version published on this website at the time of purchase applies to that purchase.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Icelandic law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from purchases made through this website shall be handled by the competent courts of Iceland, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
